Baird Gives Back
For Baird Gives Back week our team volunteered at the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse. We spent time planting and gardening in the Unity Garden on Kane Street in La Crosse. Giving back to our community is a priority for us at Baird
The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse is a charitable organization focused on providing healthy food for those in need in the local community. "The Hunger Task Force provides a safety net of emergency food to a network of local food pantries and meal programs. We are the only FREE and LOCAL food bank in the La Crosse area and we do not charge a penny for the food we distribute, delivery or network membership." - Hunger Task Force Website.
Volunteering at WAFER
Recently, our team volunteered at the WAFER Food Pantry in La Crosse. WAFER is the largest food pantry in La Crosse County, serving around 1500 families monthly. In 2022 alone, WAFER distributed 18,000 packages that provide each person in a family 4 to 5 days worth of food. "WAFER is committed to addressing hunger related needs in La Crosse County, while treating each person with personalized service and dignity".
At Baird, we strive not only to help our clients, but to support local organizations that assist our community as a whole.
Freedom Honor Flight
Community involvement is part of the Baird culture—we are encouraged to maintain a balance between home, community, and work. Baird associates are encouraged to organize and participate in fund-raising events for many causes, including education, health and human services, and the arts.
Since Baird opened its doors in 1919, we have acted on our commitment to give back to the communities we serve.
The La Crosse Office has volunteered at Freedom Honor Flight in La Crosse for many years.
